These are working ranges, not rules. The range printed on your coil always wins<\/strong> \u2014 manufacturers test their own mesh, and a 0.4\u03a9 from one brand is not identical to a 0.4\u03a9 from another.<\/p>\n

How to read it<\/h2>\n

Lower ohm = thicker wire = more power needed.<\/strong> A sub-ohm coil has a large mesh surface; at low wattage it never reaches temperature and tastes of nothing.<\/p>\n

Higher ohm = thinner wire = less power needed.<\/strong> A 1.2\u03a9 coil reaches temperature almost instantly, and extra watts only burn the cotton.<\/p>\n

This is why wattage is not a quality setting. There is no “better”, only correct or incorrect for the coil in your hand.<\/p>\n

Where to start on a new coil<\/h2>\n

Start at the lowest number in the printed range<\/strong> and work up two or three watts at a time until the flavour is full and the vapour is warm but not hot. Stop there. Going higher from that point costs coil life and gains nothing.<\/p>\n
