What is the difference between salt nicotine and freebase?
Salt nicotine is a nicotine base treated with benzoic acid, which makes a high strength feel smooth on the throat. That is why it comes in 20 to 50 mg and is used with small devices, pods and cigalikes. Freebase is low strength (3 or 6 mg) and is used with larger vape devices running low-resistance coils. Salt nicotine in a large device delivers far too much nicotine and a harsh hit.
Which nicotine strength should I choose?
If you smoke a pack a day or more, start at 50 mg. If you smoke less than a pack, 20 to 30 mg is usually enough. The practical test is simple: if you feel slightly dizzy or nauseous, the strength is higher than you need; if you keep puffing without feeling satisfied, it is too low.
