In short: IQOS is a heated tobacco device — it heats a real tobacco stick rather than burning it, and it is a completely different category from vaping. What is heated tobacco — and why is it not vaping?
The two get confused constantly, and the difference is fundamental:
- Heated tobacco (IQOS and similar): the device heats a real tobacco stick to a set temperature without burning it. What you inhale comes from heating tobacco.
- Vaping: the device heats a liquid e-liquid inside a coil and turns it into vapour. No tobacco is involved at all.
They are two separate categories, each with its own devices, consumables and way of using them. There is no coil and no refilling with IQOS — there is a device and a stick, and the stick is used for one session and then discarded.

The IQOS devices available — a quick map
These are the devices we actually carry today, newest first:
IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA PRIME
The latest generation. The key difference with ILUMA is that it has no heating blade — the heating happens from inside the stick itself, which has two practical consequences for you:
- No cleaning needed — there is no blade for residue to build up on.
- It takes TEREA sticks exclusively — HEETS will not work.
The family has several models: ILUMA ONE (a single all-in-one unit, the simplest and lightest), ILUMA standard (device plus charging case), and ILUMA PRIME (the same idea with a more premium finish). There is also the ILUMA i generation in its i ONE, i MID and i PRIME models, in colours such as Breeze Blue, Midnight Black, Terracotta, Garnet Red and Aspen Green.
IQOS 3 DUO
IQOS 3 DUO is the earlier generation, and still one of the most requested devices in Kuwait. It works with a heating blade and uses HEETS sticks, and comes with a charging case that gives you several uses before it needs a wall socket.
The practical difference from ILUMA: it needs periodic cleaning of the blade, and its consumables are different. But it remains a strong option if you are used to it or want a cheaper entry point into heated tobacco.
lil SOLID 2.0
lil SOLID 2.0 is a standalone device with a simple design and a battery that covers several consecutive uses, with its own sticks. It is one of the most asked-about devices we carry, particularly among people who want a single unit with no separate charging case. Before ordering, check the available sticks for it with us — that is the most important point in choosing it.
IQOS BONDS
IQOS BONDS is the lowest entry point in the range, and the sticks we stock for it are BLENDS. A good fit if you want to try heated tobacco with the smallest financial commitment before moving to a higher model.

The sticks — what is the difference between TEREA and HEETS?
TEREA — for ILUMA devices
TEREA sticks are designed for the ILUMA family, and their internal construction is what makes bladeless heating work. We carry them in several varieties, the most requested in the Kuwaiti market being the classic tobacco types.
HEETS — for the older devices
HEETS are the consumable for IQOS 3 DUO and the devices that use a heating blade. Available in several varieties, including Amber Selection.
NUSO and BLENDS — additional options
Alongside TEREA and HEETS we carry NUSO sticks in four tobacco varieties, and BLENDS. These are additional options at different price points — confirm compatibility with your device before buying, and we will answer on WhatsApp within minutes.
Do not mix them: every stick belongs to its device
This is the most practical point in the whole guide, and we repeat it because it comes up daily:
- ILUMA → TEREA only. Do not buy HEETS for an ILUMA device.
- IQOS 3 DUO → HEETS. TEREA will not work on it.
- lil SOLID and BONDS → each has its own sticks.
A pack bought for the wrong device is unusable and cannot be exchanged once opened — so one question on WhatsApp before buying saves you the whole amount.
Which device suits you? Four questions
Trying heated tobacco for the first time?
Start with a simple single-unit device: ILUMA ONE or BONDS. There is nothing complicated to learn and no charging case to carry. If the experience suits you, you can upgrade later.
Have an older device and want to upgrade?
If you are on an IQOS 3 DUO and the periodic cleaning bothers you, moving to ILUMA solves that entirely. But note: with the upgrade, your sticks change too, from HEETS to TEREA. Do not stock up heavily on HEETS if you are planning to upgrade.
Want a light portable device or one with a charging case?
- Light, single unit: ILUMA ONE · ILUMA i ONE · BONDS · lil SOLID 2.0.
- With a charging case: ILUMA standard · ILUMA PRIME · ILUMA i MID and i PRIME · IQOS 3 DUO.
The simple rule: if you are out for long hours and use more than one stick a day, the case makes life easier. If your use is light and measured, the all-in-one unit sits better in a pocket.
What is your budget?
The range covers a wide span: devices start under 10 KWD for the entry options and reach the 30 KWD and above band for the newest ILUMA models. Sticks fall in the 5 to 10 KWD range per pack depending on the variety.

Looking after your device — cleaning and charging
Three habits extend the life of your device:
- Cleaning. Devices with a heating blade — such as IQOS 3 DUO — need periodic cleaning with the tool supplied. ILUMA devices skip this step entirely because they have no blade.
- Charging. Do not leave the device on the charger for days on end, and use a suitable charger. The battery is part of the device and is not easily replaced.
- Storage. Do not leave the device or stick packs in the car under the sun. High heat affects both noticeably.

Frequently asked questions about IQOS
Does TEREA work on IQOS 3 DUO?
No. TEREA is designed for ILUMA devices only, and IQOS 3 DUO uses HEETS. This is the most common mistake made at purchase.
What is the difference between ILUMA and ILUMA PRIME?
The concept and operation are the same; the difference is in the finish, the materials and the price. ILUMA PRIME is the premium version of the same family.
Does ILUMA need cleaning?
No, because it has no heating blade. That is the most noticeable practical benefit when moving up from the older devices.
Can I order IQOS online in Kuwait?
